CPR-Call, Proceed, Reach Out

This quick reference guide has been designed In an effort to bless and be a blessing when you initially encounter or are someone in need of services .


STEP 1 : CALL THE HOTLINE

Call the housing crisis hotline 757-587–4202 and let them know your current situation to be connected with available resources and shelters that may be able to meet your needs. Be sure to express any medical conditions that make you more vulnerable to Covid complications for as long as were in the midst of the pandemic.


STEP 2: PROCEED TO THE NEAREST LOCATION

City of Hampton:  

Day Center: Visit the HELP Day Center located at 329 Buckroe Avenue

Accessible by HRT routes 109 and 115. 


Winter Shelter (November-March): A Night’s Welcome Shelter will be at one site for the entirety of the season!

Central United Methodist Church

Lee Street Entrance

Hampton, VA 23669

Guests can arrive to the shelter property no earlier than 5:30 PM. Check-in will begin at 6 PM.

Health Screenings will be performed on all volunteers, staff, and guests entering the shelter.


City of Newport News: 

Day Center: Visit the Four Oaks homeless day service center located at 7501 Warwick Blvd. for an initial assessment, to access a shower a meal do laundry and get connected with other potential resources.


Winter Shelter (November-March): The PORT Shelter is being held at New Beech Grove 361 Beechmont Dr AT Guests may report to 235 Harpersville Rd from 4.15 P.M. – 6.30 P.M or to the shelter site.

TRANSPORTATION for the shelter is as follows:

PICKUPS:

EVENING PICK UP BEGINS AT 3.45 P.M. – 4 P.M. PROMPT, EVERY EVENING, BEGINNING AT FOUR OAKS DAY SUPPORT CENTER 7401 WARWICK BLVD.

EVENING PICKUP 4.15 P.M. – 5.30 P.M AT WEST AND 25 TH STREET – (VICTORY ARCH)

EVENING PICKUP 40 TH STREET/JEFFERSON AT THE FORMER TOUCHLESS CAR WASH BETWEEN 4.15P.M. AND 5.30 P.M.

EVENING PICK UP WILL BE AT 5.00 P.M – 5.15 P.M. IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE BIG LOTS SHOPPING CENTER ON THE CORNER OF WARWICK AND DENBIGH BLVD., CLOSE TO LOAN $MART.


MORNING PICKUP WILL BEGIN AT 4.45 A.M. FOR DROP OFF AT THE ABOVE LOCATIONS.

Please call us at 757-317-0200 or click the SEEK HELP tab at the top of the page to reach an Ezer representative to navigate through where you are, where you would like to be, and if you might be a good fit for one of the programs we have available, We are always available as a point of reference for additional guidance and advocacy.
